LaSalle County Nursing Home is nestled on the scenic Illinois River near the historic Starved Rock state park. Our mission is to provide the best nursing services with love and compassion to those who can no longer do activities of everyday living. Nursing Home Services
Activities
The Activity Department Offers a variety of programs throughout the day and evening. Residents are invited to attend. The programs include exercise, current events, parties, crafts, religious activities, bingo, bus trips, and educational and musical programs.
The purpose of Activities is to facilitate the development, maintenance, and expression of an appropriate leisure activity lifestyle for individuals with physical, mental, emotional, or social limitations. This goal is accomplished through the provision of Activity Programs and services that assist the resident to eliminate barriers and optimize leisure activity involvement.
Dietary Department
Our Dietary Department prepares nutritionally balanced meals and snacks for the residents as prescribed by the attending physician. Each Resident's food preferences are obtained through interviews upon admission. All residents are encouraged to eat their meals in the Resident dining room. Meals are served at the following times.
- Breakfast: 7:30 am
- Lunch: 12 pm
- Supper: 5 pm
Families and friends wishing to eat with residents should make arrangements through the Activities Department.
Environmental Service Department
Our Environmental Service Department consists of Housekeeping, Custodians, and Personal Launderers. ESD is responsible for the cleanliness of the nursing home, processing linens, and personal clothing, as well as the personal touches like planting flowers, painting, and adding all those personal touches to make it a home-like atmosphere. The ESD has many various tasks to do to keep the environment of the nursing home clean, safe, and friendly.
Housekeeping / Laundry
Housekeeping and Personal Laundry/Linen services are done on a daily basis. If your family wishes to wash your personal clothing, a flame retardant container must be provided by them, and soiled clothing must be picked up at least 2 times weekly.
Infection Control
Infection control refers to policies and procedures used to immunize the risk of spreading infections. Governed by the Infection Control Nurse, the goal of the program is to: immunize against preventable diseases, define precautions that can prevent exposure to infectious agents, and restrict the exposure of health care workers to an infectious agents. He or she must keep up with the latest OSHA and CDC guidelines that affect the policies of the nursing home and update as necessary.
Nursing Care
Licensed Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide nursing care. Nursing care consists of giving prescribed medications and treatments, recognizing symptoms and reporting to a physician, and meeting all physical needs.
Our Director of Nurses oversees the nursing department from RNs to C.N.A., as well as full involvement with residents and families. Our nurses interact closely with our physicians to ensure that all medical needs of our residents are met.
Rehabilitation
Aegis Therapies is one of the largest and most successful contract rehabilitation companies in the country, with operations at more than 1,000 locations in 40 states and the District of Columbia, and more than 7,000 employees. Aegis specializes in therapy that is needed by nursing homes, assisted living, or home-bound patients with medically complex conditions. Aegis programs are structured around an older-adult Model of Care, and include Freedom Through Functionality, as a strength-training program featuring specially modified Nautilus equipment. Aegis has invested in the infrastructure, employee support, and training to effectively measure and quantify therapy impact. The focus on positive, measurable outcomes and clinical excellence helps older patients achieve more independence through physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
Social Service Department
The function of the Social Service Department is to be an advocate for our residents. We also provide assistance with family issues, personal needs, and adjustments to losses as they affect a resident's self-worth, mental state, and acceptance of illness.
We often provide assistance to our residents/families with the Medicaid application process as well as the Veteran Benefit application.
Our goal at LaSalle County Nursing Home is to assist residents with making the transition to life in a nursing home as pleasant as possible.
Other Services Provided
- A public telephone is available for all outside phone calls. A resident may have their own telephone, which will be billed to the Resident/Responsible Party. Arrangements for their own personal telephones are to be made by the Resident / Responsible Party.
- Beautician services are offered and are available every Monday and Thursday, and charges vary.
- TV Cable services are available, which will be billed to the Resident/Responsible Party.
- Our Pavilion and Gazebo are located on the premises of the Nursing Home, for families and friends to enjoy.
