Joseph R. Navarro
Joseph R. Navarro was appointed as LaSalle County State's Attorney in August 2022 and elected to the position in November 2024.

MISSION
The office of the State's Attorney serves to protect the safety and welfare of the people of LaSalle County, as well as working to bring justice to those who have been victimized.  The State's Attorney Office is dedicated to working with all police agencies, local and state, to prevent and reduce crime in LaSalle County and ensure victims receive justice.   

DUTIES

  • Felony, Misdemeanor, and Traffic Prosecution under Illinois State Law
  • Juvenile actions including delinquency, abuse, and neglect
  • Civil representation of the county and its officers and officials
  • Victim/Witness services

The State's Attorney Office CANNOT:

  • Provide legal representation to persons seeking a divorce or dissolution of marriage
  • Provide legal representation to persons seeking child custody or enforcement of a custody or visitation
  • Offer legal advice to persons involved in "civil disputes", such as landlord-tenant problems, bankruptcies, collections of bad debt, and adoptions
